Bullying has long been a problem, but social media has magnified the problem. People of all ages are often faced with issues of bullying, whether it is physical, mental or social. To draw attention to the seriousness of the problem and teach them what to do if they encounter bullying, the students at OCA were provided with a program to address the issue.
A display was provided in the cafeteria, to give all girls an opportunity to learn and ask questions about the topic. A frank discussion was held using real life examples of girls who had been bullied, the possible consequences of not getting help, and how to get help. A movie, Cyberbully, also allowed the students to see the issues surrounding bullying.
No one should have to feel bullied and everyone should help end this serious problem facing people everywhere.
